Our conservatory dining room is set into the gardens at Darroch Learg and bordered by native Scottish oak woodland.


Seasonally inspired dining

Menus at Darroch Learg change regularly; our chefs are influenced and inspired by the exceptional standard of local, seasonal produce. We are also known for our extensive and interesting wine list.

Dinner

The restaurant is open for dinner from Wednesday to Sunday.

On Mondays and Tuesdays the restaurant is open to hotel residents only, when we serve a set menu.

Dinner is served from 6pm with last orders at 8pm.

Sunday lunch

We are open to all for lunch on Sundays. Join us from 12noon with last orders at 1.45pm.

Afternoon tea

On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays we serve afternoon tea in the drawing room or dining room from 2pm. 48 hours notice required.

Group bookings

We have two sitting rooms that can be reserved for a private group - for a drinks reception before dinner or a birthday cake after your meal.

If you are celebrating with a larger group we can plan a menu to cater to your group’s budget and tastes.

The food we cook at Darroch Learg reflects the hotel and Ballater. It’s classic, seasonal food with an emphasis on top ingredients from Scotland, prepared with care and professionalism. The menu is changed on a daily basis dependent on Scotland’s larder that day.
